PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a print image which is vivid and excellent in water resistance by a method wherein an ink composition for a thermal transfer sheet is composed of colorant and heat fusible binder having wax principally, and purple pigment expressed by the specific formula is contained in the colorant. SOLUTION: An ink composition for a thermal transfer sheet is composed of colorant and heat fusible binder having principally wax, and a purple pigment expressed by the formula is contained in the colorant. In the formula, R1 and R3 are a methyl group or an ethyl group, and R2 is a phenyl group. Further, oil absorption of the pigment is especially preferably 40-50g/100g, and as the heat fusible binder to be mixed in the binder, wax as a main component and a mixture of the other wax, drying oil, resin, mineral oil, cellulose, and a derivative of rubber are used. As a base film, there are various kinds of plastics, paper groups, nonwoven fabric, etc. As an application method of the ink composition, there are hot-melt coating and hot lacquer coating when the ink is solid, and emulsion coating is used for emulsion type one. |
