PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM communication equipment in which a transmission line in duplicate and a non-redundant transmission line used independently are freely contained at an optional ratio. SOLUTION: Each of interface circuits (3-1-3-n) is made corresponded one to one to an input and output port of an ATM witch section 5 and a switch interface 6 (an input side interrupt circuit 7 and an output side distribution circuit 8) controls a cell flow from each interface circuit 3 to a corresponding input port and a cell flow from an output port of the ATM switch section 5 to each interface circuit 3. Thus, each interface circuit 3 related by switch interfacing contains optionally two single transmission lines in place of a duplicate transmission line so as to eliminate limination of the use of each interface circuit 3.
