The upper surface structure is for a body (2) with a flow medium (4) passing round it. The upper surface (1) or outer skin of the body is significantly structured to produce an improved efficiency and mechanical stability of the upper surface or outer skin. There may be a number of recesses (3), arranged symmetrically or asymmetrically in the upper surface or outer skin. The outlines of the recesses may consist of curved or angled elements or of a combination of these. They can be circular, oval, rectangular and/or polygonal. There may be webs (50 between the recesses, lying mainly in the plane of the body surface.
