PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable and non-staining carbon heater little in the consumption of the carbon material also on the use of the heater for a long period and not causing a product-staining phenomenon accompanying the generation of carbon particles. SOLUTION: This carbon heat generator comprises a Si-containing glassy carbon material in which the Si atoms are dispersed in the glassy carbon tissue in an amount of 0.1-10wt.%. The Si-containing glassy material is obtained by subjecting a cured molded product which is crosslinked with groups of the formula: -O-Si-O- or a cured molded product to a calcination carbonization treatment. The cured molded product which is crosslinked with the groups of the formula: -O-Si-O- is obtained by stirring and mixing a thermosetting resin with the hydrolyzate of a Si alkoxide containing a single Si atom in the molecule and subsequently molding the mixture. The other cured molded product is obtained by dropwisely adding an aminosilane compound or epoxysilane compound containing a single Si atom in the molecule to a thermosetting resin, stirring and mixing the mixture and subsequently molding the mixture. The Si-containing glassy carbon material preferably has a tissue in which the Si atoms are homogeneously and continuously distributed in the glassy carbon tissue in the level of the atoms. |
