<p>The invention relates to a gas sensor with a sensor element (12) which is gas-tightly secured in a metal housing (11). Said gas sensor has a two-walled protective tube (16) with a protective outer sleeve (17) and a protective inner sleeve (18) which each have openings for the inlet and/or outlet of gas. The protective inner sleeve (18) forms a gas chamber (33) into which the sensor element (12) extends with the exhaust gas-side section. The protective outer sleeve (17) is a sleeve (25) with a closed outer surface, the openings (42) for the inlet and/ or outlet of gas being arranged on the face of the sleeve (25). The gas chamber (33) formed by the protective inner sleeve (18) has a rectangular cross-section, at right angles to the direction of extension of the sensor element (12).</p> |
