PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute packaging work such as the fixing adjustment and replacing adjustment of a sensor and to attain a compact and highly sensitive sensor by arranging detection electrode plate and a ground electrode plate on the upper surface of a rectangular parallelepiped shape container and driving a part between both the electrode plates by a prescribed oscillation output. SOLUTION: A paper sheet 2 is carried to a paper money longitudinal direction carrying passage including a thread in a state that a capacitor part C86 constituted of arranging a detection electrode plate and a ground electrode plate on the same surface is pressed by a money suppressing or depressing roller coming into contact with the upper surface or rear face of a paper sheet 2, the capacity change of the capacitor part C86 is inputted to a tuning circuit in an electrostatic sensor circuit, a detection output from the tuning circuit is inputted to a paper sheet discriminating circuit 16 including a microprocessor or the like through an A/D conversion means 14, and the number of paper sheets, genuine/copied sheets, etc., are judged and outputted to the external. At least a pair of detection electrode and ground electrode plates are arranged on the upper surface of a rectangular parallelepiped container constituting its detection face by a side shorter than the minor side of a paper sheet and a part between the electrodes is driven by a prescribed oscillation output. |
