<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the rate of error correction for regenerative data by replacing an ECC3 area and a trick regenerative data area, which are added to a digital video cassette recorder, with prescribed pattern data. SOLUTION: A regenerative data separation part 20 divides a signal, which contains independently decodable image data, into ordinary regenerative data and trick regenerative data and a mixer part 30 adds synchronizing signals and identification codes to the respective data. The ECC3 area is allocated for the error correction of ordinary regenerative data. A 1st outer code error correction-encoding part 41 replaces the trick regenerative data with the prescribed pattern data and performs outer code error correction-encoding to these data together with the ordinary regenerative data. A 2nd outer code error correction-encoding part 42 performs outer code error correction-encoding to data in the ECC3 area. An inner code error correction-encoding part 50 performs inner code error correction-encoding to the ordinary regenerative data, trick regenerative data and data in the ECC3 area, and a modulation part 60 modulates and records these data in the prescribed positions of respective tracks on a tape.</p> |
