<p>A hollow heald shaft for a loom has thin side walls and cross members. Removable ends have a projection which fits into an insert and are clamped into position by a set screw so that the end forces are transmitted as tensile forces to the side walls. The insert can consist of blocks and reinforcing walls to form a rectangular housing which carries the thread for the clamping screw.</p> |
