PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device to select and display an anatomically abnormal part by image-processing to obtain signal improved and signal suppressed image data of the abnormal part previous to an abstracting diagnostic, and subtracting the latter from the former data to eliminate a low frequency back ground image texture. CONSTITUTION: Two images are made from an obtained signal projection digital image 10 of a breast part. One image shows the largest signal to noise ratio(SNR) image 20 of a nodule, and the other shows the suppressed SNR image 30 of the nodule, and the background image texture is substantially the same. Then, the difference 40 of the images is calculated. The difference of two images is composed of the nodules, overlapping to the background image which is comparatively uniform and is very easy to detect. To detect a lung nodule 60, after obtaining the diagnostic image from the both improved and suppressed images, abstracting diagnostic technique is applied. The contents 50 of the technique are a measurement of a threshold value of the diagnostic image, a test for annularity and size and variation measurements of annularity and size following the changes of the threshold value. Thus, the nodule is extracted. |
