Multiple phase voltage switch mechanism for medium voltage circuit breakers

The multiple phase switch mechanism includes the rotating phase switch arm (8) mounted on a shaft (12). The shaft is electrically connected to a vacuum ampoule switch (A). The unit is sealed in a chamber with isolating gas. The rotating arm can be moved up or down by a manually operated cam mechanism (5) which is controlled by a motor operating on two cam connected arms (3,4), with the motor acting in a third plane. The cam engages the phase switch before closing the ampoule switch, and operates in the reverse sense on opening.
