PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high-quality image by performing control in accordance with environmental conditions even in an image forming device which is not equipped with a temperature and humidity sensor. SOLUTION: A transfer belt 71 consisting of elastic material whose resistance is changed in accordance with the environmental conditions is used as an environment sensor for which a high voltage power source 79 for impressing transfer bias is set as a power source, and a CPU 50 commands a belt separation means 52 as required out of an image forming period so as to separate the belt 71 from a photoreceptor drum. After that, the CPU 50 detects impressed voltage on the belt 71 on which voltage is impressed from the power source 79 and total flowing current, and sets and stores an environmental value in accordance with the environmental conditions in a memory 51. The CPU 50 performs various kinds of control in accordance with the environmental value read out from the memory 51. |
