The electrical contact plate 16 is crimped on to the end of a connecting wire 14 and has U-shaped regions 18,20,22 that are stamped out to create contact tongues 26,28,30,32,34 that are raised clear of the surface. The conductor 50 is inserted longitudinally under the contact tongues which are then pressed flat to create a zig-zag contact pattern.
