PURPOSE:To offer an image forming condition setting method that automatic setup of an image forming condition is automatically executed without necessitating the labor of a user at a necessary time such as the exchange of a photosensitive material and an image forming device which can accomplish the automatic setup at a low cost without adding new expensive parts. CONSTITUTION:At the necessary time, a condition setting mode is automatically set, and gray and/or black and white test charts are generated, preferably, by using an exposing light source, white original pressure plate and a lens diaphragm. The reproduced image of the test chart is measured by a built-in densitometer 22 and cleaning warning (display or alarm) for an exposing system is issued in accordance with the measured result by a control part 30. Based on the measured result, the image forming condition is calculated and the exposing condition of a color filter and the diaphragm is set, then the reproduced image of the test chart is discarded to a discard tray by changing a carrying path. |
