A bending press (1) has a C-shaped frame with side plates (3L, 3R). The upper leg (5) of the frame carries power cylinders (15L, 15R) on which a cross beam (15) is fitted. The cross beam holds an upper bending die (11) divided into several shorter die sections (11D). The lower leg (7) has a lower die-holding part (19). The lower die (9) is divided into several shorter die sections (9D). On the right hand side of the press, a die-storing station (17) is carried by legs (55). Inside the die-storing station are die-storing clamps fitted on an endless linkage, into which the shorter die parts can be pushed. The linkage moves stepwise after one clamp has accepted a short die section, moving to position the next empty clamp for storing the following die section.
