A shock-proof case for a portable measuring device has a bottom wall which comprises a cut-out defining a wall portion 5 pivotally connected to the case and disengagable from the cut-out outwards of the case and which may be brought into at least one angular position with respect to the bottom wall so as to form a crutch to support the measuring device in an inclined position.
