A method of creating a personal log of reading activity using an electronic book (100) includes reading machine-readable data from a machine-readable storage medium (136) installed in the electronic book (100). The machine-readable data is representative of a plurality of pages of a book. At least one of the plurality of pages is displayed on a display device (130, 132) integrated in the electronic book (100). First data (704) indicating the at least one of the plurality of pages which were displayed, and second data (706) indicating a time at which the at least one of the pages were displayed are stored to provide the personal log. The first data (704) and the second data (706) can be retrieved to display an indication of the at least one of the plurality of pages which were displayed and the time at which the at least one of the plurality of pages were displayed. |
