A lock assembly for locking a door 2 to a frame element 22, comprising a rotatable locking element 24 mounted on the door and a locking rod 46 connected thereto. A pin 34 can selectively engage the locking element at 30 to prevent rotation. The locking rod 46 terminates in a spring plunger 50 so that, with the rod extended and the locking element 24 locked by the pin 34, the door can be closed by interaction between the plunger 50 and the door frame. Two mechanisms act to disengage the pin 34, against spring bias, from the element 24 - a solenoid 54 and key-operated mechanism 70. |
