FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: biologically decomposable polymers formed from monoethylene unsaturated dicarboxylic acids and/or salts thereof; monoethyleneunsaturated monocarboxylic acids and monounsaturated monomers which can, after hydrolysis, be converted into monomers containing hydroxyl group covalently bonded with C-C chain and optionally, other radically copolymer monomers, the sum of monomers a-d constituting 100%. The claimed invention also describes method of preparing polymers by radical polymerization and hydrolysis in aqueous medium and using as additive to detergents and cleaning agents for pretreatment of cotton, for printing textile products as whitening stabilizers, for dressing leathers as auxiliary agents, for inhibiting water hardness, and also as dispersants. EFFECT: improved properties of decomposable copolymers.
