PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealing property between a sensor element and a housing, improve the temperature rising property of the sensor element, eliminate the need for erroneously assembling the sensor element to the housing, and eliminate such problems as short-circuiting when the number of output terminals are increased due to making an air/fuel ratio sensor have high performance. SOLUTION: A sheet-shaped sensor element 2 where a sheet-shaped detection part 23 and a sheet-shaped output take-out part 22 are provided and a collar part 21 protruding in the width direction is provided between the both is inserted and fixed to the inside of a cylindrical housing 11, a powder 12 is arranged at least above the collar 21, and at the same time, a press force is applied from the upper portion of the particle 12, thus airtightly fixing the sensor element 2 inside the housing 11. The outer sectional area of the output take-out part 22 in the sensor element 2 is larger than the outer sectional area of the detection part 23. |
