Thermo-forming tool and use of tool in machine for production of packaging strip with recesses

A tool (10) for forming recesses in thermoformable packaging strip (11) comprises an upper tool plate (44) supported by a baseplate (30), a movable lower tool plate (24) acting with the upper plate (44) to form the recesses, guides (28) for aligning the upper tool plate (44) relative to the lower tool plate (24) and dampers (35). The base plate (30) and upper tool plate (44) are rigidly fastened to each other and the collar-like dampers (35) concentrically surrounding the guides (28) act in conjunction with the base plate (30). Use of the tool, especially in a machine, for production of thermoformed packaging is also claimed.
