The invention relates to a twist lock device (51) for the connection of containers (85) stowable, in particular, on stackable containers (84), on vehicles, on ships or the like, at corner fittings (80, 81) each having a retaining opening (82, 83) for a locking space (88, 89), which device substantially comprises a housing (71, 72) in which there is a locking pin (6), and a lower twist lock (2) and an upper twist lock (1) which are arranged outside the housing, are connected to each end of the locking pin (6), and are insertable through the retaining openings (82, 83). The device also comprises actuating means adjusting the locking pin, the twist locks (1, 2) being rotatable so as to engage behind to the longitudinal edge areas of the retaining openings. The object is to provide increased safety when using twist lock devices (51) for the connection to stowable containers (84, 85). The object is attained in that the locking pin (6) is connected to the lower twist lock (2) rotationally fixedly and to the upper twist lock (1) so as to be rotatable about the longitudinal axis (50) of the locking pin (6), and also to be displaceable about a part in the direction of the longitudinal axis (50), the twist locks (1, 2) being compression-spring-loaded to be maintained at a distance from one another and flexion-spring-loaded to vary the torque. |
