PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high-quality image output without being affected by the secular change of an image carrier or environmental fluctuation by providing an image carrier potential detecting means, a recording medium potential detecting means and an image density detecting means for detecting the optical density of a developed image on a recording medium. SOLUTION: Detection signals from four kinds of detecting means, that is, a photoreceptor potential sensor 41 being the image carrier potential detecting means, a recording paper potential sensor 42 being the recording medium potential detecting means, an image density sensor 43 being the image density detecting means detecting the optical density of the developed image on the recording medium 11 and a toner concn. sensor 29c are inputted in the input part of a process control part 33. Therefore, the characteristics of an electrifying means 22, a transfer means for transferring an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier 19 on a recording medium 11, and a developing means 21 in an image forming stage using a latent image transfer method are individually grasped. Thus, appropriate feedback control by the process control part 33 is realized and high-grade process control is performed. |
