PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube equipped with an electron gun using Nickel-Chromium (N-Cr) sleeve for a color cathode-ray tube capable of securing desired property. SOLUTION: The composition of the elements contained in the base substance metal of an Ni cap 32 fitted with an Ni-Cr sleeve to apply electron radiative substance 33 consisting of alkaline earth consists of Fe: 0.05wt.%-0.4wt.%, Cu: 0.01wt.% or under, Mg: 0.001wt.% or under, Si: 0.04wt.%-0.3wt.%, Al: 0.001wt.%-0.06wt.%, Mn: 0.002wt.%-0.03wt.%, Cr: 18wt.%-21wt.%, and Ni for the rest. And, after press processing into circular form, the adhering press oil is cleaned and removed with an organic solvent or aqueous detergent, and then carbon adhering to the surface after cleaning is left in the range of 10<-4> g/2μm<2> -10<-8> g/2μm<2> .
