The safety control for the hospital trolley wheels (3) consists of brake pedals (8) located at each end of the trolley chassis (16). The wheel brakes are activated by means of cams (6) mounted on a control spindle (7). This spindle is connected to the brake pedal pivoting spindle (24) by an endless belt (9) rotating on pulleys (23,2) on the pivoting spindle. A second set of pedals are also located at each chassis end for raising or lowering the frame of the load carrier. Each pedal in one set is kinematically fixed to a pedal in the other set in order that wheel braking and raising or lowering can be performed from one end of the carrying frame. |
