The tapered, or wedge, profiles of the bolt (1), cams (4), and the grooves (9) of the clamping nut (2) are arranged in a spiral at identical pitch, specifically between 10 and 80 deg. The nut and bolt can have three pairs of co-operating cams and grooves. The clamping nut may have an external polygonal surface, and the rear face of the cams can ascend anti-clockwise. The wedge profile of the cams, on the other hand, may form a right-hand ascending spiral. The nut comes with hexagonal exterior (3) and the three cams of the bolt ascend as spirals at their curved rear face only to descend from their top point (6) down to the deepest point of the adjacent cam and so form a flank (7). The nut orifice (8) has, in turn, three grooves so its throat surfaces (10) descend, at a shallow angle, but rise at right angles from their bottom point to the apex of the adjoining groove. Thus, completing the wedge profiled securing system.
|
