<p>A roller with a cage, which suppresses generation of heat and prevents generation of seizure to attain a prolonged service life, and provides various effects. In order to completely remove a recessed portion (1j) produced at the time of working an outer retaining projection, an outer periphery of a cage (1) is cut to make an outer surface of the outer retaining projection (1h1) and a normal outer diameter (Do) of the cage (1) agree with each other. With such arrangement, the roller (2) will not come into contact with the outer retaining projection (1h1) even when a roller guide surface of a columnar portion (1c) of the cage (1) wears. Also, since the recessed portion is not left, a contact area between the roller and a mating part, to which the roller is mounted, is increased to make contact pressure smaller.
