PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in color forming sensitivity and the storage stability of an undeveloped color part and a developed color image by adding at least one kind of a compd. selected from a salicylic acid derivative represented by a specific formula and a metal salt thereof as an electron acceptive compd. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material containing an electron donating color forming compd. and an electron acceptive compd., at least one kind of a compd. selected from a salicylic acid derivative represented by formula I and a metal salt thereof is added as the electron acceptive compd. and a compd. represented by formula II is added. In the formulae I, II, X1 and X2 are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, Y1 and Y2 an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, R1 is a hydrogen atom and the others, R2 is an alkyl group and the others, X3 -X6 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an arylthio group or a halogen atom and R3 and R4 are an alkyl group or an aralkyl group. |
