PURPOSE: To obtain a heat resistant felt capable of preventing a spot damage during the conveyance of a high temperature product by intertwining a heat resistant web formed by compounding or laminating a metallic fiber or an inorganic fiber with a heat resistant fiber into one unit. CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant felt 3 is obtained by intertwining a web 4 such as a web formed by compounding or laminating a metallic fiber of stainless steel, copper, etc., with an inorganic fiber of carbon, ceramic, etc., or a web formed by compounding or laminating the above metallic fiber or the inorganic fiber with a heat resistant organic fiber of para- or meta-type aromatic polyamide fiber, etc., singly or with a heat resistant substrate cloth 5 formed by weaving a para- or meta-type aromatic polyamide fiber yarn, by a needle punch treatment into one unit and further imparting a heat resistant resin such as a silicone-based, a fluorine-based and a polyimide-based resin. By covering the major body of a roll 2 made of a metal with the above heat resistant felt formed to a tubular shape, a conveying roll 1 for the conveyance of a high temperature product during the production processes of steels, non ferrous metals, nitrogen, etc., is obtained. |
