<p>A sensor insertion apparatus for a pipeline having an axis. The apparatus includes a fitting enclosing an opening in the pipeline. A housing connected to the fitting includes a pair of extending nipples, each nipple at an acute angle to the pipeline axis and to the housing. A sensor insertion assembly is connectable to either one of the nipples, the insertion assembly including a launch tube movable between the insertion assembly and the pipeline so that a sensor is passable through the launch tube and through the fitting into the pipeline.</p> |
