PURPOSE: To enable accurate hidden-surface processing by giving an attribute to a division element which divides a curved surface and tracing division elements according to attributes when the curved surface is divided into two curved surfaces along a closed curve and one aimed curved surface is hidden behind the object curved surface. CONSTITUTION: This image processing method hides the aimed surface between the two aimed surface and object surface with the object surface. Then the method is equipped with a dividing process S1 wherein border elements are generated by dividing the intersection of the line of the two surfaces and the outlines of the surfaces by their intersections and a decision process S2 wherein it is decided whether each of the respective border elements generated by the dividing process S1 can be seen. Namely, the divided border elements are given attributes of 'Seen?', 'From which element it is divided?', etc. According to the attributes set in the attribute adding step S2, the divided elements are traced to generate the border of a curved surface which is seen as a result of the hidden-surface processing. |
