The key input device performs a help function as to a key input by comprising: a display unit driving part(14) to display the screen page output of a help message as to the key input selected by a touch panel(12) in the display unit(10); a touch panel driving part(16) generating the electrical signal corresponding to the input of the function key displayed in the display unit(10); a key input reading unit(18) judging the selected function on the basis of the position signal of the touch panel; a control part(20) making the help message displayed in the display unit; a help message storing part(22) stored with the information as to the help message about the key input; and a control data outputting part(24) outputting a remote control signal to an control object apparatus by driving an infrared ray generating part(26).
