The device comprises a body base having a means of fixing to the object. The body base comprises a disc (1) at the surface of which extends a hollow cylinder (2) of smaller diameter than the disc. The assembly is closed by a cylindrical cover (3) having a slightly greater diameter than the disc. The cover height is greater than the cylinder and is fixed by its open end (3a) to the disc periphery (1a). The cylinder contains a reactive body (7) causing a chemical reaction with water and the release of gas. A valve consists of orifices (5) drilled in the cylinder bottom on the disc surface inside the cylinder. A pad (6) located on the orifices facilitates water absorption in the direction of the reactive body. The body base when submerged in the water lets water enter through the valve and releases gas which inflates an envelope (9). This causes the object to rise to the surface
