PURPOSE: To obtain an adequate KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI(Chinese character) conversion candidate by deciding a notation word which has high priority as a corresponding notation word through retrieval from a word dictionary unless an example corresponding to the reading of a word of a paragraph is found through retrieval from an example dictionary. CONSTITUTION: A ROM 5 stores a document program for KANA-KANJI conversion that a CPU 1 executes, the word dictionary used for the KANA-KANJI conversion, the example dictionary used for example application processing, a learning dictionary storing learning data, etc. The dictionary used for the KANA-KANJI conversion consists of word information used for notation conversion and example information used to determine a 1st candidate at the time of the notation conversion. When the 1st notation word corresponding to the reading of the word of the paragraph is determined through retrieval from the word dictionary containing the readings and notations of words and information on combinations of words, the notation word having high priority is decided as a 1st notation word through the retrieval from the word dictionary unless an example corresponding to the reading of the word of the paragraph is found through the retrieval from the example dictionary. |
