PURPOSE: To provide an automatic irrigation apparatus for plant effective for facilitating the management of watering on e.g. a roof garden. CONSTITUTION: This irrigation apparatus is provided with a planting structure member 1 having a water-reserving part 5 at the bottom and water-supplying port 13 and discharging port 11 connected to the reserving part, a supporting mesh plate 3 for supporting soil in the structure member, a water-supplying porous mat 4 positioning its end in a water-reserving part 9 of a planting vessel and having its principal part placed on the supporting plate, a moisture meter embedded its lower part in the soil, a water-supplying apparatus 6 connected to the water-supplying port, a water-discharging apparatus 7 furnished with a valve and connected to the water-discharging port and a controlling apparatus 8 to control the action of the water-supplying apparatus and the water- discharging apparatus with a valve according to the moisture content measured by the moisture meter. The optimal and automatic irrigation control of a roof garden, etc., can be performed by this apparatus. |
