COMMUNICATION CHANNEL TESTING METHOD AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect the quality of a communication channel operated in a bidirectional mode. SOLUTION: This communication system is provided with a calling station 100 for generating a test sequence formed by plural test frequencies and a reception means 14 provided with a testing means 16 for testing the quality of the channel 105. The testing means 16 calculates both of the transmission function of the channel and channel noise distribution for the plural frequencies. By considering noise generated by the reception means 14, the testing means 16 decides optimum frequency band and bit rate for transmission. The information is transmitted to the calling station 100 and communication is established.
