This roller blind or shutter for openings in buildings consists of a first hanging or blind (1) which is capable of being opened and closed, fully or partially. A device (5) provides movement between positions. A second blind (2), included parallel to and covering the first, which is moved, together with the first, by the operating device (5) has detach able section. Pref. fastening devices (3, 4) hold the blinds detachably together, the second being interchangeable, the first consisting of a series of horizontal, connected lamellae (6). The first blind is a protective roller shutter, its lamellae vertically connected and it may be one-piece. The second blind is fastened to the first on one edge, with a tensioning device at its other edge. This may be a flexible, permanent or detachable, connection between the blinds. The second fastens by its upper horizontal edge to the first, and may be weighted (7) at the other edge to assist unwinding, using a strip of wood, plastic or metal. The blinds run on a reversible roller, being wound onto it together as spiral layers. The second blind may be a paper based band, with a plastic sheet lining on one or both sides. It may alternatively be a textile, optionally lined on one or both sides. A fine mesh fabric is used, esp. for insect screening.
