A plug (2), in the end of which bunches of bristles (7) are mounted, is inserted in holes in the body of the brush. The outer cross section of the free end (3) of the plug, which faces the body of the brush, is smaller than the cross section of the holes (4) in the brush body, so that the plug can enter the hole in the brush body. The end of the plug (2) is conical so that it gradually reduces in size towards its end (3). When the centreline (L) of a bunch of bristles lies at an angle to the surface of a brush, the depth of penetration of the plug is calculated so that the tangent of the angle represents the depth of penetration.
