PURPOSE:To improve the parallelism of a transaction and to effectively utilize a page by unnecessitating the exclusion of the page up to the end of the transaction for restoring a tuple without changing the physical identification number of the tuple at the time of roll back. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a tuple access means 7, empty page area excluding processing 8, physical tuple identifier excluding processing 9, improved page compaction means 11 and empty page area usage deciding processing 12 and when increasing the number of empty areas in the page, the tuple access means 7 inhibits the usage of those empty areas in the page by using the empty page area excluding processing 8 and when it is necessary to use the empty areas in the page, compaction is performed by utilizing the empty page area usage deciding processing 12 only when those areas can be used.
