摘要 A transceiver module for optical communication includes a light-emitting element, a light-receiving element and a rod lens. Light from the light-emitting element is condensed onto the top end of the rod lens. A ferrule of an optical fiber is brought into physical contact with the top end surface of the rod lens so as to couple the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element with the optical fiber. The rod lens is held by a support supported by a spring member on a housing, and the outer diameter of the rod lens is formed so as to be substantially equal to the outer diameter of the ferrule. An opening portion is provided in the housing so that the top end of the ferrule of the optical fiber is slidably fitted into one end of a sleeve, the other end of which is slidably fitted onto the outer circumference of the rod lens. Also, a transceiver module includes a light-emitting element for emitting transmission signal light, a coupling lens for connecting the transmission signal light emitted from the light-emitting element to a light transmission path, and a light-receiving element for receiving detection signal light from the light transmission path, in which the transmission signal light emitted from the light-emitting element is reflected on a surface of the light-receiving element and connected to the light transmission path through the coupling lens; and the detection signal light from the light transmission path is received by the light-receiving element.
