PURPOSE: To provide the power source controller and image recording device which can be powered ON and OFF only when necessary while reduced in power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A main power source 1 is turned ON and OFF by a relay 10. The relay 10 is controlled on the basis of a wake-up signal 16, a shut-down signal 15, a heater hang-up signal 14, and a signal 18 from a switch 19. An auxiliary power source 2 is driven at all times. Even when the main power source 1 is turned OFF, the auxiliary power source 2 makes an I/F monitor part 12 which controls the relay 10, a priority level part 20, the shut-down signal 15, and the heater hang-up signal 14 effective. Consequently, when the device is not used, the main power source 1 is turned OFF to reduce the power consumption and the auxiliary power source 2 which drives the very small-scale circuit is in operation, so the device can be started up immediately by turning ON the main power source at need. |
