PURPOSE: To set longitudinal or lateral writing on a document automatically or by indication input with ease by determining a copy area on a copied body according to the counted number of input documents and outputting image data in a memory means. CONSTITUTION: An image input means (image input device) 1 inputs a document image. A 1st setting means sets whether the document inputted by the image input device 1 is longitudinally or laterally written. The memory means (storage means) 11 stores the image inputted by the image input device 1. Further, a counting means counts the number of input documents inputted by the image input device 1. Then a determining means determines the copy area on the copied body on the basis of the counted number of the counting means and an image output means (printer part) 2 outputs the image data stored in the storage means 11 according to the determination result of the determining means.
