The individual target objects are identified with regard to path criteria, by means of e.g. infrared sensors. Passive sub-munition parts, e.g. mines, are launched vertically downwards. Active sub-munition parts, e.g. ammunition charges with aimed explosive effect, are launched upwards. Action follows of the passive and active sub-munition parts on the target individual objects. Launching from the sub-munition part carrier upwards and downwards occurs simultaneously. The sub-munition part carrier (3) has both downward and upward directed, vertically arranged launching tubes (3a) for the sub-munition parts (7,9). The sub-munition parts are connected with a stabilising component, e.g. a wind bag and also to a parachute which opens after launching and is provided with an eccentric slot.
