The door closer includes a piston-cylinder system whose piston (7) is connectable with the piston rod (4) by a separate screw connection (22) mounted in a common longitudinal axis of the piston rod and piston. The piston rod has an inner thread (29) containing a fixing element (28). In the fitted state the fixing element can be mounted in a through bore (32) of the piston and fixes the piston relative to the piston rod.The piston has a through-bore through which a fixing section (57) of the piston rod engages in the fitted state. A screw nut engaging on the fixing section fixes the piston.
