The safety system comprises an automatic plastics sheet suction safety device using an electronically controlled vacuum unit. Tear-resistant plastics sheet is drawn in a computer controlled manner over the bow and stern door flaps. The vacuum units form part of the bow and stern structures and weld the inner flaps to the hull and side frames.
