The wiper arm has a multisection frame holding the blade. A U-section top stirrup accommodates a bottom one between its flanges at one end and which forms a rocker beam. A U-section flexible link (28) fits between the stirrups and is lockable to the top one and has on the inside protruding trunnions fitting in recesses in the bottom stirrup. Locking devices on its outside engage with mating ones on the top stirrup. Locking devices (50) on the bottom stirrup hold those (40) on the link in the engaged position. The devices on the link can consist of protrusions fitting in mating openings in the top stirrup. They can consist of teeth on lugs cut out of the link flanges. There can be recesses in the outside surfaces of the link flanges, allowing deflection of the toothed lugs at least for the length of the teeth when the bottom stirrup is inserted in the top one in the assembly position, which is different from the working one.
