PURPOSE: To obtain a marking pen with which characters or a picture pattern can be freely and directly written on. a surface of food or an eatable substance and the food or substance can be eaten as it is by a method wherein eatable ink is absorbed in an absorber and reserved in an ink reservoir part in a pen case. CONSTITUTION: A pen case body 11, an ink reservoir part 13, a sealing cover 15, and a pressing and fixing plate 16 are made of polypropylene. A writing tip 12 and an absorber 14 are made of felt. The writing tip 12 is projected from a hole provided at the lower end of the pen case 11 and securely clamped. The lower end of the felt-made absorber 14 impregnated with eatable ink and inserted in the ink reservoir part 13 is brought into contact with the upper end of the writing tip 12 in the pen case 11. The eatable ink is composed of, for example, 84.8wt.% cochineal dyestuff, 15.0wt.% propylene glycol, and 0.2wt.%, citric acid. |
