PURPOSE: To uniform the cell temp. in a stack of a fuel cell and enhance the characteristics of the fuel cell by making the rate of flow of a cooling water flowing in the center of the stack greater than the rate of flow at the end part. CONSTITUTION: Cooling water in a stack is introduced from cooling water inlets AA, CC furnished at the two ends of the stack 25, converged in the central part, and exhausted from two outlets FF, HH. Thus the rate of flow of the cooling water in the central part is increased so that the cooling effect of this part likely to get a high temp. is heightened, and thereby the cell temp. in the stack is maintained uniformly and over-dry or wetting of the cell are eliminated to lead to enhancement of the characteristics of the resultant fuel cell. |
