PURPOSE: To prepare pet food having excellent nutritive value, safety and productivity, and low fat content, capable of readily treating waste water and having excellent mass productivity with low prime cost, and without wounding viscera of a small pet animal such as a puppy or a small-sized dog by effectively utilizing and softening neck bone of an edible bird. CONSTITUTION: This preparation method comprises a blood-removing and washing process removing and washing away blood from neck bone of an edible bird, a smothering process smothering the neck bone washed in the blood- removing process, a cooling process cooling the neck bone smothered in the smothering process, an adjusting process adjusting the neck bone to a prescribed length, a sealing process degasifying and bagging the neck bone adjusted in the adjusting process with condiments principally containing at least one of fermented soybean paste, soy sauce or table salt into a retort pouch, and a retorting process retort-treating the retortable pouch sealed in the sealing process. |
