<p>The return member comprises a one-piece plastics moulding (1) with a spherical head (2) to interact with a ring on the end of a bar controlled by the gear lever, a ball joint (3) to engage with a coupling arm, and a ring (4) to co-operate with a pivot fixed to a part of the vehicle. The ball joint can be of metal or carbon nitride, and the ring can be overmoulded on an insert with seal lips (4a1) at both ends. The spherical head has a hub (1a) which is moulded as part of the return member and is covered by a hemispherical friction ring (2a) which is capable of elastic deformation.</p> |
