PURPOSE: To provide a picture display device which is made compact and constituted so that electric power is saved by using an LED for a back light source emitting light toward a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION: A user views a video projected on the color liquid crystal panel 10 through a convex lens 12 and an eyepiece 5 arranged closely to the panel 10 by the eyeballs 13. A back light part is constituted of the red LED 15, the blue LED 16, the green LED 17, a dichroic mirror of G reflection 22 and a dichroic mirror of red reflection 23. By using the LEDs for the back light source, the power consumption is reduced and the life of the battery of the device is prolonged. |
